Meeting at the Directorate General of Construction Development: Presentation on an Integrated Waste Management Scheme
Jakarta — In an effort to strengthen collaboration between the government and the private sector in addressing construction waste, the Directorate General of Construction Development, under the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), held a meeting with PT Vingold Bioenergy to discuss an integrated and sustainable waste management scheme.
The meeting, held on Thursday (June 12) at the Directorate General’s office in Jakarta, was attended by Mr. Indro Pantja Pramodo, Secretary of the Directorate General of Construction Development, representing the Director General.
In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of innovation in waste management, particularly waste generated from construction activities.
Challenges and Collaboration in Construction Waste Management
Mr. Kimron Manik, Director of Construction Sustainability, noted that managing construction waste remains a major challenge that requires joint solutions. He highlighted several issues, including the need for land and facilities for waste processing, the availability of appropriate equipment and technology, as well as the social challenges faced by communities around waste processing sites.
Vingold Bioenergy’s Commitment to Green Construction
Mr. Andrew Kokanda, CEO of PT Vingold Bioenergy, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting environmentally friendly construction through renewable energy solutions. Vingold Bioenergy specializes in processing wood waste into biomass materials, such as wood chips and wood pellets, which are used by industries as sustainable fuel alternatives.
